When it comes to cooking and baking, I love being able to do things from scratch. I’m not a big fan of buying pre-made items at the store because, lets be honest, who really know whats in those anyways?
Knowing what is in my food gives me a peace of mind and pride in my efforts to be as healthy as possible.
I know that making everything from scratch can be hard when life is just busy, busy, busy. The last thing you want to do when you get home from a long day at work is make your own taco mix before you can even start making your taco meal.
I completely understand that! That’s why I’ve created this “bulk” taco seasoning mix recipe. It gives you enough taco mix for several meals, so all you have to do is throw together the spices on a day when you have the time, put mix into a sealed container, and voila, you have ready-made, home-made mix at your finger tips for whenever tacos are calling your name.

Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup Chili Powder
- 1 TBSP Garlic Powder
- 1 TBSP Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Crushed Red Pepper
- 2 tsp Oregano
- 2 tsp Paprika
- 3 TBSP Cumin
- 1 TBSP Salt
- 1 TBSP Pepper
Instructions:
Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl. I like to use a big wire whisk to make sure you get it all thoroughly mixed. Store it in a cool, dry place. (I like to store my spices in these slick IKEA spice jars).
I like to use 2-3 TBSP per pound of ground meat, depending on how spicy you want it. My family uses around 2.5-3 TBSP per pound.
