Hi there! My name is Ellie.
I love to cook and bake! My husband is my number one fan! One of my passions in cooking and baking is being able to draw from international and local cuisine. I am the daughter of a Swede and an American, have lived in 5 countries, 6 states, and visited countless others. I love being able to share the variety of tastes and traditions with anyone who is adventurous enough to try them.
When I’m not spending time in the kitchen, I am taking care of my sweet dogs, spending time in my garden, working with my hands, and enjoying the great outdoors. You might also find me curled up under a warm blanket with a cup of tea.
My blog shares recipes inspired by my time overseas, good ol’ American cuisine, ultimate comfort foods, tidbits about our adventures together, and life on our little mini farm-to-be. Thanks for visiting my page. I hope you enjoy the recipes and musings!

This is such a great blog. So fun to follow, enjoy the pictures (amazing photos), the recipes and the stories. Well done!!!
Thank you!
You are amazing! When can I come for my cooking lesson? Love how you explain everything so easy to follow for folks like me who only know how to eat with a teaspoon out of a jar of peanut butter! So excited that you do this to help the ones of us who are challenged.
Thanks so much! Glad to be of service!
I shared your recipe with my siblings as we, too, have African roots, hope to make it sometime, my mom had a recipe for ngounza that we have enjoyed, hello to your parents
How cool! I hope you guys enjoy this recipe! Thanks for stopping by! I’ll definitely tell them hello 🙂
